About Me!

Hey guys! My name is Sarah Prado, the founder and baker of Sarah's Bakery. I am 18 years old and currently studying at Louisiana State University majoring in Business.  My love for being in the kitchen started at an early age, inspired by my Brazilian roots, and continued to grow. I love detailed and meticulous recipes and creating beautiful but also delicious creations. The best part is being able to share them with family and friends, and hopefully future customers!

    My Story

    Ever since I was able to walk, my love for baking began to shine through. In fact, the very first sentence I ever wrote by myself was 'Make a Cake.' I was always drawn to cake decorating videos on YouTube, and after typing that phrase into the search bar so many times, it became second nature. My mom encouraged my passion early on by taking me to cake decorating classes, where she also introduced me to traditional Brazilian cakes and sweets.

    As I grew older, my curiosity expanded into more complex and detailed desserts, inspired by world-renowned pastry chefs. One of the greatest blessings of my childhood was being able to travel the world at such a young age. Those experiences opened my eyes to how culture influences desserts in unique ways. Every summer in Europe, I would return with special ingredients from each country—pistachio paste from Italy, gelatin sheets from France, Ruby Callebaut chocolate from Belgium, and so many more treasures that shaped my baking journey.

    About four years ago, I began selling cakes, though at first it was only an occasional hobby between schoolwork. In early 2024, I added artisan sourdough bread to my menu, and by May of this year I decided to take my business more seriously. Expanding my offerings and committing fully has been a turning point, and the growth has been greater than I could have ever imagined.
